The Essence

The Essence is considered one of the most fundamental foundations of existence mentioned throughout the ancient Book. Most known forms of life, objects, and even the Worlds themselves are connected to this concept in one way or another.

According to the records, the Essence is neither matter nor energy in any conventional sense. More often, it is described as the underlying foundation from which forms, memory, states, and the very presence of things within reality are shaped.

For this reason, it can be assumed that the Travelers themselves are composed entirely of Essence. The same understanding likely applies to all other beings as well, including the Villagers and every other form of life that has existed.

There are also references to an unstable form of Essence known as Jeet. In such cases, Worlds, objects, or living beings may begin to alter their own form, lose stability, or leave behind nothing but fragments of memories and impressions.

Despite the vast number of references, the true nature of the Essence remains one of the primary subjects of my ongoing research. A significant portion of the surviving records still proves extremely difficult to translate.

Somewhat greater understanding of the Essence was only achieved through the translation of the record known from Cosmology.
